What is Calm Investing

On most savings accounts and term deposits, you only get low or zero interest. Calm investing is an attractive alternative for growing short-term savings. With its expected return, it outperforms bank deposits while the value changes only slightly. And you don’t have to tie your savings to a fixed period.

Up to 1 year or up to 3 years

We will select one of the two strategies for you based on when you will need the money.

2.3% annually

Yield by strategy

The figures presented represent the gross floating yield to maturity as of May 31, 2026, as reported by the ETF managers. The yield is tied to the ECB's deposit facility rate and interest rates in the Euro bond markets. It does not include the Finax fee of 0.5%.

This is the expected appreciation assuming that interest rates do not change during the investment period. In the event of a decrease or increase in interest rates, both the yield and the investment result may change. It is therefore not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Calm Investing utilizes ETF funds focused on the money market and short-term bonds. With its yield, the strategy up to 1 year reflects short-term interest rates set by the European Central Bank, with practically zero volatility in value. It is therefore suitable even for investments lasting a few months. The strategy up to 3 years offers a higher yield potential with moderate value fluctuation, though it still remains a cautious solution. It is therefore suitable for investments lasting 1 to 3 years.

What is Calm Investing composed of?

Calm Investing utilizes money market ETFs and short-term bonds. As a result, their yield reflects short-term interest rates in the economy at very low risk.

Money market ETFs track the interest rates at which banks lend money to one another overnight (via so-called overnight deposits). Bond ETFs, in turn, contain high-quality, short-term bonds issued by governments and corporations. The goal of Peace-of-mind investing is to give regular people access to the short-term interest rates at which governments or companies borrow money. Although these rates have risen significantly in recent years, banks have not fully reflected this in the interest rates of savings accounts or fixed-term deposits.

What is the difference between the strategies?

Both strategies are conservative and designed for short-term savings. The strategy up to 1 year is not subject to fluctuations in value, while the strategy up to 3 years has a higher yield potential.

Both strategies utilize money market ETFs and short-term bonds. The strategy up to 1 year yields returns that reflect the short-term interest rates set by the European Central Bank with virtually zero volatility in value. It is therefore suitable even for investments lasting a few months. The strategy up to 3 years offers higher yield potential with moderate fluctuations in value, though it remains a cautious solution. It is therefore suitable for investments lasting 1 to 3 years.

Which strategy should I choose?

You don't have to decide on your own. When opening an account, we will ask you when you will need the money and how you perceive fluctuations in value. Based on that, we will set up a suitable strategy for you.

If you want to have your money ready in the coming months, we will choose the strategy up to 1 year. If you have more time and want a higher potential yield, the strategy up to 3 years may be more suitable. As a result, you do not have to deal with selecting instruments or monitoring the market—we will take care of everything for you.

Is it as safe as a bank deposit?

Calm Investing is a minimal-risk solution suitable for storing short-term savings. However, it is not the same product as a bank deposit.

The risk of your savings not being paid out due to bankruptcy is similarly low with Peace-of-mind investing as in a bank. At Finax, funds are protected up to 50,000 euros by the Investment Guarantee Fund, while in a bank, up to 100,000 euros by the Deposit Protection Fund. Furthermore, at Finax, we must hold your assets separately from the company's assets, whereas in the case of a bank deposit, your savings enter the bank's assets, and the bank becomes your debtor.

The value of the investment may fluctuate, and the yield is not guaranteed. With the strategy up to 1 year, the fluctuation in value is minimal; with the strategy up to 3 years, it is slightly higher in exchange for a higher potential yield.
