Marko Grđan - Time is money, but a small amount of knowledge is necessary too

My name is Marko, a 43-year-old training manager in an energy company. The value of saving was instilled in me by my parents from a young age.

They opened a children's bank account, where we enjoyed watching cartoons while depositing my savings. I cherished my bank passbook. When the children's bank closed, I moved my savings to a traditional account, prioritizing safety and earning some interest. After college, I ventured into recreational investing, starting with domestic investment funds and shares.

In 2008, the investment bubble burst, and my lack of knowledge resulted in a loss of savings. I took a break from investing, but low bank interest rates led me back to funds. Due to time constraints, I opted for domestic funds for their simplicity, avoiding the complexities of opening accounts or researching brokers.

Over time, I realized that simply investing isn’t enough for achieving substantial growth. While the domestic market offers various open investment funds, selecting one with the highest annual returns isn't guaranteed, and high fees often diminish profits. Comparing domestic funds to foreign counterparts, I noticed that domestic funds are more sensitive to market downturns but fail to consistently follow the market's growth after a recovery, likely due to their high fees.

Seeking a secure long-term investment for my family's future, I delved into educating myself about market movements. For me, stocks are an occasional pastime, real estate lacks substantial value increase, and precious metals come with storage concerns. Investing in global energy projects yields higher returns but doesn’t offer a long-term solution.

During my research, I discovered ETFs but hesitated due to the need for an international broker, additional fees, and taxes. Fortunately, my wife stumbled upon a webinar invitation about fund investments, introducing me to Finax, and the rest is history!

Finax provides portfolios that are diversified across global ETFs and bonds while also offering minimal fees, automatic rebalancing, a user-friendly web application, and the option of reducing fees. The straightforward registration process and accessible staff, along with a wealth of educational content on the website, make Finax a refreshing addition to the market.

After investing with Finax, I can confidently say I've found a reliable platform for satisfactory long-term savings. I wholeheartedly recommend it to others.
